I consider myself open-minded, tolerant, and non-judgmental. Well, via DU, I came across this bulletin board at this site.
The first comment went like this:
hey guys...with all that is going on, the excitement is palpable!!! I was (and have been) reflecting lately on what the actual rapture moment will be like (whenever it happens....lol).....i Know it's instantaneous but do ya think we'll have like a second of "realization" like (**horn blast**) and then thinking, "OH IT'S HAPPENING!!! THIS IS IT!!" Or we'll actually feel ourselves being lifted up and sailing through the air??? OR, do ya think we'll just like blink and be in the presence of the Lord that quick??? (yea i know i think about crazy stuff sometimes....lol) But sometimes when i consider the times, i almost can feel my spirit ready to leap outta my body (if that makes ANY sense....) oh well......back to the news.....just wondering what u guys thought......lol
They're laughing (last I checked that's what "lol" stands for) at the chaos and suffering in the Middle East because "The rapture is coming! The rapture is coming! The rapture is coming!" Sure, mad irrational panting does come with a disclaimer at the site.
Some of our guests may have the impression that Christians are rooting for the apocalypse and are rejoicing at seeing blood spilled. [Really? I wonder why?]The media sometimes portrays Christians that way, but it simply isn't true. While we long to see God's will done here on earth, just as it is in heaven, we know that this will not happen until some terrible things come to pass. But we don't rejoice in the suffering that occurs as it happens, nor do we find the death that both the military and civilians incur in the process cause for celebration.
Emphasis and commentary added. Well, call me crazy but "the excitement is palpable" and all the "lol's" say otherwise. Not to mention that most of these people nuts have no doubts about them being "saved." For example,
I sure hope it happens that fast because most of the professing "christians" I know are going to be kicking and scratching on the way up if they have time to think about what is happening to them. Their flesh is w-a-y too comfortable in this world! If it's anything like what happened with Lot's wife when she looked back, those left behind had better have their battle helmets on because there will be multitudes of "incoming objects" falling back to earth.
Those "christians" who don't rejoice at the suffering of others even if it could mean their salvation? Well, golly, I didn't know that compassion was actually a sign of weakness in the faith!
I can respect everyone's right to believe what they want. But my limits as far as not judging others have been crossed. They are nut jobs. I'm being judgmental. I'll work at overcoming it and I will . . . one of these days.
